Dengue cases could reach 80,000

Department of Health warned in Tuesday that number of dengue cases could reach 80,000 this year.

According to reports, DOH recorded 40,648 dengue cases from January-July 2010 and is expected to rise this rainy season. The recorded cases are 48% higher than the reported cases same period last year.

Meanwhile, some hospitals like East Avenue Medical Center and San Lazaro Hospital are now preparing for the threat by putting up express lanes for dengue patients.
