“Henry” entered PAR; monsoon rains flooded areas in NCR

Tropical Depression “Henry” has now entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). As of 11 A.M. today, the location of the center is 1,050 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and moving West Northwest at 24 kph.
The weather bureau said that although “Henry” is too far to affect the country, the tropical cyclone is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and bring rains over Luzon and Visayas, particularly the western sections.
Meanwhile, two Low Pressure Areas located 70 km and 740 km East of Cagayan (which were already dissolved) enhanced the Southwest Monsoon and flooded yesterday some areas of Pasay City and Las Piñas City.
According to the report yesterday of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC), Bayanihan St. and Almazor St. in Pasay City experienced foot-deep flooding. Meanwhile, knee-deep flooding is experienced in Doña Soledad Ext., Brgy. Moonwalk in Las Piñas City.
