Weather Advisory #1 on JUAN

In the latest bulletin of Pagasa as of 12 am, Typhoon “Juan” was estimated 940 km east of Northern Luzon moving west northwest at 20 kph. The typhoon has maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 170 kph. It is expected to make landfall in Cagayan by Monday afternoon, however, it may be felt by tomorrow according to Pagasa.

As of 12 am, no Public Storm Warning Signals raised. “Juan” is expected to gain strength as it nears the coasts of Luzon and might bring “Ondoy”-like rains.

In their forecast, “Juan” is expected to be 780 km East of Aparri, Cagayan by Sunday morning, 310 km East of Aparri by Monday, and 40 km West of Vigan City by Tuesday morning.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and ManagementCouncil (NDRRMC) released weather advisory on Regions I, II, III, and CAR asking the public and local disaster risk reduction councils to take precautionary actions.
